There is nothing (and has been nothing) that I follow more closely or passionately than R&B music. My love for the artists and sounds have been my earliest memories in life. My first musical memory is Stevie Wonder’s My Cherie Amour and after hearing it, I felt something inside me that I could never forget. As I got older the music of Janet Jackson, Aaliyah, Jon B, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, and SWV would inspire a love that I would carry with me into adulthood. As I began to discover the styles, beats, and melodies that I gravitated toward most, I would study them. This is where “nerd” comes into play. I would obsess over cracking open jewel cases and reading album or tape booklets, looking for names of the producers, songwriters, and musicians that I adored the most. Born from my never ending pursuit of knowing all there is to know about the music that I love, we now have RNB Nerd.
